Readers share their favourite Powys pubs for a Sunday roast

Last month we asked readers which Powys pub served up the best and we received plenty of responses.

So which pubs serve the best beef? Where can you find the most splendid spuds and which pub do you recommend for its gorgeous gravy?

Here are the top five Sunday roast pubs in Powys as suggested by readers and Trip Adviser.

Angie Owen said: "Always an amazing Sunday carvery with such a good selection of veg and meats.

Katy Blackhurst added: "Outstanding Sunday carvery... large portions...an amazing selection if veg and excellent value for money."

Unicorn Hotel, Caersws

Sharon Nutting said: "The Unicorn hotel in Caersws has been our saviour for a lush home cooked Sunday roast! Lush roasties and amazing gravy."

Trip Adviser user Karen B said: "Went here as recommended by the owner of the hotel we were staying in. So glad we did. Roast lamb dinner was excellent. Went during Covid restrictions being in place and we felt totally safe. Staff were friendly and attentive."

Royzee28 wrote on Trip Adviser: "Had a very tasty and filling Sunday lunch. Prompt and friendly service, food was proper home cooked flavour, veggies served separately, all very hot on hot serving dishes. Sunday roast so tender and good portions."
